Attention: Your Old Pillow May Affect Your Health Every-Night
When it comes to sleep quality, the first thing we think about is the mattress, quilt, and the pillow is always the one to be ignored. But the pillow is the intimate companion that you fall asleep with every night.
If you’re experiencing any of the health issues described in this post, maybe it’s time for an upgrade.
1、Achy Shoulders or Neck
The size of your pillow should provide the best angle to cradle your neck and head comfortably. Too thick or too flat, the pillow might be forcing your head into unnatural positions.
The thickness of your pillow depends on how you prefer to sleep. If sleeping on your back or stomach is most comfortable, then a flatter pillow might help to keep your head in the correct position. If you’re a side sleeper, then a thick pillow can help fill in the space between the mattress and your ears –– creating a perfect angle for your neck and head.
2、Allergies
Signs of allergies could include wheezing, tightness of the chest, itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and an itchy throat. Dust mites thrive on pillowcases that aren’t frequently washed as they like warm, dry areas with access to food, like skin cells.
3、Waking Up Multiple Times
When you're in good health, but often wake up repeatedly at night, and have to adjust the sleeping posture and the position of your pillow. It means you are not comfortable while sleeping, it is time to check your bedding.
UPGRADE YOUR PILLOW
If you suffer from any of the health conditions mentioned above, maybe it is because your old, worn-out pillow is impeding restful sleep. Lack of sleep, over long periods of time, may cause catastrophic effects on our health and well-being.
Try to bend your pillow in half, if it doesn’t reform back to its original shape, then it might be time to replace that pillow.
